Wireless or wired network: Choose well before you buy
Wireless and wired networking both have their pros and cons. While wireless networking frees you from the shackles of cabling and allows you to add users with minimal fuss, there are concerns about security and hacking risks, health issues (related to human sensitivity to WiFi as highlighted in a BBC Panorama Programme in May 2007 as well as the fact that wireless generally performs less well than wired networks.

On the other hand, wired networking is generally much cheaper, easier to use, faster than Wireless, less susceptible to the office layout, speed fluctuations and interferences with neighbouring wireless networks. However, building a wired network requires more planning initially. More thought has to be put in making sure that wires do not get in the way, are not positioned to close to electrical trunking and that there are sufficient points of connection for extra computers.
